I have vowed to make my next dog a senior shelter dog. People think I’m crazy and I get the “but you won’t have much time with them!” line all the time, but knowing that I was able to provide love to an animal who otherwise wouldn’t experience it in the last years of their lives is totally worth the sadness I’ll feel when they pass.
